The non-negotiable that most are compromising on.
Because ‘meditation’ is seen as something you do, the illusion of choice is born where you ‘choose’ to meditate or not. The mind intervenes. Some meditate. Many don’t.
However, meditation is not actually a choice.
There is an innate need to meditate like the need to sleep when tired or the need to drink when thirsty but the need to sit, to be, is the most extraordinarily subtle need there is, so it is easily overlooked and not felt and therefore missed.
If hunger were as subtle as this, we’d starve to death. And in a way, by not meditating, we are starving. Just in a different way to physically starving.
Meditation is as vitally important as sleep is. When one doesn’t meditate, it is as damaging and detrimental as not sleeping is.
You must meditate. It is not a choice.
Just like sleep, there are only benefits to it, meditation is the same. There are only beneficial upsides to it.
Relaxed is our natural state. The deep relaxation that comes from meditation doesn’t only relax the physical body, but it allows for the nervous system to relax. Only when the nervous system is relaxed, can one return to the primordial state of being.
When one mediates, a recalibration occurs.
Where once was a numbness, there is now a pocket of awareness.
This awareness now allows for what was once overlooked and ignored to now be cultivated and known. This knowing, is your nervous system.
You will never restfully relax until the nervous system is organically relaxed and the nervous system won’t be soothed until it is lovingly nurtured. It will never be nurtured whilst it’s being ignored.
The numbness to its sensitivity is the ignorance of mind reality.
The cultivating of its sensitivity is the truth of primordial Reality.
Meditation is a required non-negotiable that the mind has forced many to abandon to a huge personal and global detriment.
Don’t concern yourself with duration and ‘how’ to meditate. There is no ‘doing’. Like sleep, it just happens.
All you must do, is sit.
Consistency is key.
Everyday you must have an intentional sitting practice. For how long, doesn’t matter, as long as it’s daily and it’s done with intention.
Just sit.
It’s the simplest action one can do. Sit. Close your eyes an breath. The most basic of human being.
In the very first session, the benefits will be administered immediately. Whether your mind consciously allows you to feel them or not is another question, but your body, your system, your being, will all immediately reap the benefits of a single meditation.
Just as you sleep every night and it’s not questioned. Meditate everyday with the same lightness and surrender.
It’s not a habit. It’s not a doing. Just as you don’t ‘do’ sleep, you don’t ‘do’ meditation.
You gently emerge into sleep.
You gently emerge into meditation.
Simply sit. Every day. Peacefully. Intentionally.
This will only benefit your life. Like drinking water when thirsty. It is life sustaining.
